This is the alphabet book that swaps "A is for Apple" for A is for Anzac biscuits — a hardcover picture book built entirely around the things that make growing up in Australia what it is. Cockatoos in the gum tree. Wombats wandering the woods. A lamington so good you can't choose between little or large. Uluru glowing red at sunset.
Every letter comes with its own short, playful, alliteration-packed sentence — designed to be read aloud, laughed at, and read again, while quietly helping little ones build the sound-and-letter connections that make early reading click. It's the kind of book that works just as well for a toddler on your lap as it does for a five-year-old sounding out the words themselves.
I wrote and illustrated every page myself, so this one's a genuine labour of love, not a mass-produced import — made for Aussie kids, by an Aussie.

What is the book about?
All Things Aussie, A–Z is an alphabet book of iconic Australian things, one for every letter. Think Anzac biscuits, bilbies, cockatoos, lamingtons, Uluru and Zooper Doopers. Every page has a bright illustration I drew myself.
Who is it for?
Kids aged 3 to 7, especially those learning their letters or starting to read. It's also a great gift for anyone with Aussie roots, whether they're nearby or far away.
Who made it?
I did. I wrote and illustrated every page. This is my first children's book, and I'm sharing the drawings one by one on Instagram as I go. @alana_draws_kidsbook
How much is it?
$24.95 AUD plus shipping.
Can I pre-order it?
Yes. The book is almost finished, and I'm putting the final touches on the pages now. Pre-order now and I'll send it as soon as the first copies are printed.
Will it arrive in time for Christmas?
Yes, that's the plan. I'm aiming to have copies ready to ship by end of November.
Where do you ship?
Australia and overseas. Shipping in Australia is $12.95 as a flat fee.
What if my book arrives damaged or faulty?
Email me at alanamanningart@gmail.com with a photo and I'll replace it.
Refunds for pre-orders: If you change your mind before the book ships, just let me know and I'll refund you in full.
Will it be in bookshops?
It's printed through IngramSpark, which can list books with online and bookshop distributors, but that takes a few weeks to filter through. For now, the best way to get a copy is here.
