HELLO, I'M ALANA

I paint the coast that put me back together.

A few years ago I left a long career in design and a grey Melbourne winter behind, chasing better weather and time close to family. What helped me heal from a chronic health condition was the ocean. Cold morning swims at Wylie's baths became my reset button, and painting them became my next chapter.

Now I paint the spots locals know, the ones you'd only really clock if you live here. I work in oils, slowly, with a colour palette that leans warm and joyful, because that is honestly how these morning swims feel.
